Shawn was our guide and he is the best! Very knowledgeable, patient, he made sure we saw every important part of the island, he teaches us the history and everything we need to know. I highly recommend this tour!

Great way to spend the day off the cruise ship in St Maarten! We wanted to see more of the island and have a more private local experience rather than the big cruise tour groups. This was perfect- just us and we saw pretty much the whole island and had some nice relaxing time on a couple beaches as well. Our driver/guide Shawn was awesome- very knowledgeable and accommodating! Ask for him if you can! He showed us both touristy spots as well as more local hot spots and some phenomenal viewpoints! I felt like this tour was a great value and would totally book again. We did get started a little late because we weren’t sure of the pickup point- just know that the main gate is past the dock gate, past all the shops, and past the taxi and bus pickup, out by the main road- there really weren’t signs for it and the view of it is blocked by all the buses and buildings. Once you find the driver with your name sign- it’s smooth sailing from there!

Shawn was absolutely amazing!!! Being a native from the island, he was extremely knowledgeable about the culture, past and present! He explained so many things that have changed since hurricane Irma hit the island! He was polite and was the best part of our entire trip! He was even so kind in taking us to get a lock, so we could lock it on their Heart Lock at the swing bridge! He was great! My husband and I also called him throughout the week for pick up and drop off around the city, he definitely exceeded all expectations!! We are definitely planning on booking him again when we return to island next year

I had an amazing time with Tracy during my private tour guide. She is professional and friendly. She took me all around the island and made sure that I took pictures to save as memories. She picked me up at a place of rendez vous and was flexible for me to see everything that I wanted to see on the island from the Dutch to the French side. She took me to popular beaches, monumental areas, up on the hills, in Town, market place pretty much covered the all island. And to end the day we ate at a vegan restaurant. I would recommend booking this private tour where you can enjoy a one on one tour at your pace. I cannot wait to book more event from their company.

My husband and I had an amazing private island tour of St Maarten/St Martin today. Shawn was extremely knowledgeable of all aspects of the island, both Dutch and French. He was also incredibly helpful getting me into the van ( I am disabled and my legs decided to give out on me when I tried to get back into the van). He and my husband had their hands full (literally) lifting, pushing and pulling my body back on to the van. It looked like a game of Twister gone horribly wrong. But Shawn was great...Patient and helpful.
I think we saw all it was possible to see ( under the circumstances) and learned a lot about the island and its history. I highly recommend Pelican Island Tours.

We had a great day with Shawn on a private tour. We were a group of 2 families with young children and had a great time! We told time a few things we wanted to do and let him fill in the rest. It was wonderful. He stayed with us the whole time and took part of our group to the port when one of the children needed to return.
I hope to come visit for longer next time and we will definitely be working with him again!

Shawn is the man. Very informative and knowledgeable. Showed us all around the island pointing out key sites. A perfect tour guide also taking pictures for us. Would recommend to anyone wanting to know more about the history of St. Maarten.

This was a tour by car NOT by air as the image suggests.
Host was very friendly & polite. Not much to say about it but worth doing if you don’t have access to view the Island on your own by foot or car.
